Mayor Brodie Highlights the City’s Strong Economic Growth and Future Plans at His Annual Address Hosted by the Richmond Chamber of Commerce

Richmond, BC - On March 2nd, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce hosted Mayor Malcolm Brodie’s Annual Address and Luncheon, where Mayor Brodie gave a keynote speech outlining the city's achievements and plans for the future. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and attended by local business leaders, government officials, and community members.

In his address, Mayor Brodie highlighted the city's strong economic growth, public projects and key leadership changes at the City. He also discussed the city's investments in infrastructure, affordable housing, and environmental sustainability.

“Richmond has always been a civic leader as our City Council has enacted bold, innovative, sustainable programs and strategies for the benefit of our 230,000 residents and almost 14,000 businesses,” said Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “Looking back on the past year, Council and staff can take great pride in our accomplishments as we worked together to emerge from the pandemic and ensure Richmond continued to be a safe, strong, active and resilient city thanks to wise investments, sound management and innovative action.”

The Chamber of Commerce welcomed the Mayor's address and applauded his commitment to supporting local businesses and promoting economic development.

"We are grateful to Mayor Brodie for his steadfast leadership and vision for the future of our city," said Shaena Furlong President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce. "His emphasis on collaboration and innovation is key to creating a prosperous and sustainable community."

The luncheon also provided an opportunity for attendees to network and connect with other business leaders and community members. The Chamber of Commerce expressed its appreciation for the support of the event sponsors and volunteers, who helped make the luncheon a success.

"As the voice of the business community, we are dedicated to promoting economic growth and prosperity in Richmond," said Furlong. "We look forward to continuing to work with the Mayor and other stakeholders to achieve our shared goals."
